"Friends of Long Meadow" - Fundraising/Events

A non-profit organization, "Friends of Long Meadow" will accept tax exempt donations to help fund lake management initiatives.  In addition, fundraising activities will be scheduled to reach out to the community for additional support.  Please check our calendar of events.

Outreach

We are working to develop guidelines to help people make informed decisions about how they can live in a way that protects the ecosystem.  Lawn care, septic maintenance and smart gardening are a start.  The LMLMC is a resource for the community.  We are available to answer questions and will research areas of concern to residents of the watershed.

To date, we have issued 3 newsletters to watershed residents and have been featured in the Voices news paper. We will have a presence at existing functions such as the Bethlehem Fair, Earth Day, and the Bellamy Ferriday House and Garden events.  We contribute to the Northwest Conservation Districtís "The Voice of Local Conservation" and work with the Bethlehem Conservation Commission.

LMLMC is creating an educational program to work with local students. The results of one of these programs soon will be visible as you enter the watershed and are welcomed with colorful and informative signs.
